Members Silverburst LP
I'm looking seriously into getting a GFS Pre-Wired PG for my MIM strat. I have other crazy mod ideas for down it the road, but as it stands now, I'm not spending more than the guitar cost for an upgrade. I think it'll be the Premium Alnico Vintage's, I27. I'm liking these, and while they may not be Fralins or Rio Grande's, my assumption is they're a steal of an upgrade for the price, and may sound good enough to keep for a while. I also hear GFS's pots and switches are of surprising quality, so the whole package seems like a great deal. Yes, no, maybeso? Experiences? Thoughts? Members -Assy-
they are a good deal. the quality is above the price, but the quality is not the best. it will be a good upgrade for a mim strat though.
Members Silverburst LP
Thanks for the reply. I figured about as much. I've also heard they sound DAMN good. As long as they have a little life, I'll be able to work with them. I get by alright now with just the stock MIM PUP's. I'd have to imagine the GFS's with new pots and a selector will be a pleasant jump.

Members Longhair
You could always pull out the loaded pickguard and either drop it in a better guitar or sell it separately when you are tired of the MIM.
Members Armitage
Has anyone ever seen a NON-Hand-Wired Pickguard?
Members Bro Blue
I put the same hand wired pickguard in my '95 Korean Squier. They do have vintage output and tone. They are a little on the bright side, but nothing major. The 2nd and 4th pickup position is quack city. In fact, those positions and the neck sound very very good. They are a good upgrade.
