Members Mark Ahle
Eventually, I'm going to be getting a new electric guitar. i want to keep it under $700. I was looking at Mexi Strats, High-end Epiphones, Low end Gibsons. Then I heard the PRS SE. Holy {censored} that thing has that heavy blues tone I love. What would a PRS SE sound like with Gibson 57' Classic Pups sound like? Thanks!! -Mark
Members ashasha
Probably killer. I can't attest to the PRS SE pickups because I've never played one, but every PRS I've played I thought sounded sterile. The '57 classics are one of my favorite pickups and I bet they'd sweeten it up a lot.

Members Musicscotty
I'm not trying to be blunt here, but if you loved the tone of the SE - as it was - then why change it?
Members Dougie.Douglas
The PRS SE is a gorgeous guitar! I am currently in love with the SE Custom 24 and the SE Custom Semi-hollow.
Members PlinytheWelder
I have an SE singlecut Soapbar and it's going to some BG P90's when my doctor bills ease up. I love the neck on it. Really easy to play. The 57 classics should be a nice upgrade, they're great pickups.
Members Darkstorm
I think the PRS Tremonti SE sounds as good as or better to me. Its certainly possible youd swap pups then put the stock ones back in. Lol. So give the stock ones a chance since you allready rather like them. I suspect theyd have a little bit better sustain note fade out char then the gibson pups too.
Members Mark Ahle
Yeah...I suppose your right. Why fix something thats not broken? I guess I always liked the idea of a guitar completely customized by myself-you know-overtime. Everyone I have asked about PRS say they are really well made and just awesome guitars in general. So thats why I'll probably go with a PRS. I really wanted to know if someone had already done a mod like that, just to get an idea.
