Amp Forum Is Of No Help! Anyone Know Anything About A National Glenwood Amp

Glenwood wasn't a model, but a line of amps. They ranged from 5 watts to 70 watts. Released and distributed by the Gretsch family. I believe, like early National amps, these were Valco built. It'll probably need some TLC to make to gig reliable, Valco amps were built as solidly as Fender and it's had nearly 50 years of component drift in components that were cheap when new. Should sound nice...whether it's an inherently clean or dirty amp may depend on the model, but these were made as Valco, Gibson, Fender and others were moving on the cleaner amps.

I think it'll sound great, and if you are inclined or knowledgeable to do you own maintenance, then it may be a fine acquisition. But I've quit buying many non-Fender/Marshall vintage amps, many require so much troubleshooting and replacement pieces, I'm better off grabbing the schematic and making one from scratch.
