Members mguts5150
I'm thinking about buying an Eclipse, but no one around me really has any in stock to play. They mostly stock the LTD stuff. Are the Standards consistent enough where you would feel comfortable ordering one sight unseen and without playing first? Members w00dsy
just because it looks like a Gibson doesn't mean it suffers from Gibson quality All the ESP stuff i have seen, plus my Edwards has been top notch. My Eddy is seriously good. I was really worried about buying sight unseen but i was so releived when it turned up and was way more than i expected. Youu'll have a hard time finding anyone who can faults the ESP's.
Members ashasha
If you order it from somewhere reputable you usually have a 30 day grace period at a minimum to see if you like it. I've never returned a guitar because I didn't like it, but I am sure that plenty here have. And yeah; from what I've heard the stuff coming out of that factory is pretty solid....but I'd still take a Gibson over it.

Members lonerstoenr
All ESP and LTD guitars I've tried have had exceptional quality control.

Every Eclipse i have played has been great, i can't say that about every Gibby i have seen in shops. There's a lot of great ones, but it can be hit an miss. For resale then absolutely go the Gibby, but if you want a high quality guitar then the ESP would be a great alternative.

Why choose? I'm planning on adding both to my arsenal.
Members Brewski
The EC400 is the 22 fret version whereas the EC1000 is the 24 fret version. I haven't really been able to tell any other difference besides this and the pickups. the only issue I have with the LTD EC series is the thinness of the neck by the nut but that's just me. they are made of wood and like any other guitar, I have noticed wieght differences and of course resonation of unplugged ones. but quality on each was darn good.
