Members metalheadUK
OH MY GOD! Dunno what to say...if it's genuine (and I'd want it checked over by an expert if I were lucky enough to have the money) Thats it for me...the Holy Grail. Gorgeous flame as well. Absolutely beautiful.

Members metalheadUK
It is a very very good looking guitar, shall we chip in Marc? I was thinking of asking for a HCEG raffle or summat....lets all chip in to buy MHUK a 'burst for his 50th birthday! But I can probably find a hundred quid or so...do you think we can knock 'em down? Members cratz2
Dunno guys. It's pretty beat up, the plastic looks old and the frets indicated it's actually been played to some degree. You can get a very decent brand new LP for like $2,000... why would anyone what this hunk o' junk?

Members Les Paul Lover
That relic job just isn't it, IMO. Just doesn't look real like a proper road worn does. :poke:

Members Flogger59
For a guitar that was obviously played a lot, those original frets have amazingly low wear. Flatwounds FTW!
Members CrystalLake
The value of it reaches $250k according to the Official Vintage Guitar Magazine.
Members soundcreation
Any bets on over under? I say no higher than 200 grand.
Members jpnyc
I really feel sorry for whoever had to let that guitar go, although I suspect someone with ignorant children died for a 59 LP to end up in a vintage shop and not Sotheby
Members 59humbucker
Any bets on over under?I say no higher than 200 grand. Over on the LP forum, Joe Ganzler (the guy who authenticates these things) reckons the reserve is probably set at $750k plus. Not that it will fetch that, the point is for it not to sell via ebay and incure their fees, but to freely advertise the guitar and sell it via private agreement at a later date

The fact that it's even on Ebay makes me shudder, it's not the place for that guitar, or maybe it is:idea:

Members Mazi Bee
How's this: Geez, look at all the finish flaws. Gibson's QC has sucked since 1959! Speaking of QC, check out the g tuner. Installed all crooked. Maybe QC has been crappy since the begging!
