Members James Hetfield Acne Scars
Ive got numerous guitars with new strings minus the high E. I need to buy a bunch of them for spares but i cant find anywhere online that sells them separately. At least not at Musicians Friend or AMS. Earnie Ball Extra Slinky. Anybody know where i can order some?
Members mikesr1963
Musician's Friend. I bought a bunch of 8 singles from MF so I know they sell singles for Ernie Ball.

Members BoneNut
What I want to know is how often you break high Es and why?
Members cratz2
Guitar Center, Sam Ash... most local shops that carry strings sell single high Es or a pack of 6 of them. I don't break high Es very often, but I break them more than any other string. Doesn't hurt to have a few extras around.

I've probably broken three in 2010 so far.
Members cratz2
I'd say I break two E strings a year. Usually while bending up a whole step while not in the middle of the fretboard. Do you guys not bend? I've had E strings break before they were fully up to pitch on a couple different instruments. I've had one string break when I was probably tuned around C or so, then I'd put another 20 strings on that guitar over several years and never break another one. I mean, we're talk nine or ten thousandths of an inch... and it's a production item.
Members poolshark
I usually break mine from detuning the strings during setups and pickup swaps. Hate it when I'm tuning back up, get somewhere around a B and then *ping*.
Members deadllama
I seem to break more wound strings than unwound ones, for some reason, especially on my Thinline. My Ventura Gretsch copy, however, has a floating bridge with weird nylon saddles that likes to eat unwound strings, particularly the G and B. That one, I know, is the fault of the guitar. Members Snowcow
Seriously? 3 strings in 35 years? I've probably broken three in 2010 so far. Seriously. And most of my guitars are strung with 9s ( a few have 10s).
Members tlbonehead
I would say I average one broken string every other gig, and it could be any string. And yes, I buy all my string in multi-paks of each gauge usually from MF or 123.
