Members jumpwin
Am I being retarded, or is this REALLY overpriced for what it is? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1961-Gibson-SG-Les-Paul-Junior-Black-61-Jr-RARE_W0QQitemZ270533764228QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item3efd11a484
Members metalheadUK
It's a nice guitar, but "Near mint" is pushing it a bit I think.Seems a lot of money....but I suppose it depends on what someone is prepared to play. The Les Paul markings make it more desireable, and I dont know how much it being black affects anything.Seems like a {censored} load of money to me.... Members Carbohydrates
He's probably right about that being a rare color, but he's very wrong about it being near mint! If that color is as rare as he says, I could see maybe $10k.
Members volvo1800
Very overpriced. 8-12 grands worth. offer him six, and make sure to inform him that its a piece of {censored}. Be like " that's a piece of {censored} man, give it to me for 6"
Members sk8centilli
Unless the color adds $25,000 I think so. Elderly Instruments, a very reputable company, has a '61 Cherry finish for $4,700 in similar condition (slightly more worn headstock):

Members aliensporebomb
Yes. Overpriced. I don't subscribe to the factoid that "just because it's old it's gotta be the best guitar ever designed anywhere by anyone."
Members Carbohydrates
"just because it's old it's gotta be the best guitar ever designed anywhere by anyone." Not even the people who buy these think that. Market and collector value != quality.
Members volvo1800
He does check it over with a black light though, so if your confidence is in that it as a lack of "love stains" on it, then its worth that much.

Well, I don't see any man stain on it . . . so its clear in my book. Touch ups are a lack of concern for me, its the Touch down . . . in the previous owners pants that does.
