Here is a cool one I'm building for a blues / rock player.

Body is one piece quilted maple from a monster billet I had in my stash.

Fretboard, pickup rings, and control covers are cocobolo.

Pickups are a set of nickel covered BG Darks with 6 way rotary switching.

Here is the billet I started with

Here it is rough shaped

And here it is with an amber shellac seal coat and a few top coats of True Oil. Still have a bunch more to go, but she is starting to shape up.

Thanks again all :)

... What do you use for that? Do you use a milling setup of some kind?

Yea, figured maple / woods are a bitch to work with. No milling setup on this, just sharp blades, low angle planes, light / shallow cuts, and a spiral cutter in the router with a set of templates I made for it.

Still putting finish coats on her but thought I'd post this detail of the bottom of the bridge before it gets installed.

I've used this design and a variation of it a few times now and it works great. Its a glued / set bridge much like is done on an acoustic.

Here you can see the extended brass tubing through the bottom of the bridge. Doing it like this gives it good coupling, some forward shear strength, and makes it easier to accurately locate the bridge come assembly time.

Here is a pic of this builds bridge and a couple closeups of a variant I used on my Cruiser proto.
