Members Gas Hed
You are correct sir - I keep mine on a mini table I got at IKEA. Grant it, I can do that because it is a 1x12 combo and only weighs about 55 lbs.

Members guitarman3001
Depends if you want more bass response or not? this I keep mine on the floor and use a standback amp stand to point it at my ears. The closer to the floor, the better the bass response you'll get.
Members HanSolo
MF folding amp stand is sop. I was at GC playing a used guitar through an AD15VT like mine and thought "I wonder why this Strat sounds so much better than mine." It finally hit me that the amp was at ear level at GC. I use a stand for my both my AD15 and my AD50. Back in the day I had a Peavey Studio 50 and aways used a folding chair for it.
Members cratz2
Yeah, I usually keep my $600 amp on a $1,300 stand when I'm playing it.
Members EJD
I always mount mine on a wee little table. Keeps 'em off the ground, plus there's space underneath for my toolbox. Win win
Members nothingstock
I used an amp stand for a while, but when I got my AD50VT, I couldn't see the knobs. I guess a file crate would be a good solution if I ever play out. Have to try that later today.

Members craig_in_tx
Depends if you want more bass response or not? Exactly. I used to play with my DRRI on top of a road case and had to crank the bass knob all the way to 10. It still wasn't warm enough for me (granted, the DRRI is a pretty bright amp even after clipping the "bright" cap). I finally ended up installing tilt-back legs for it and with it now on the floor, I get the bass-coupling while still having the sound directed towards my ears. Members CoqBelliqueux
I really prefer having them on the floor, even the small Champ. Feels less like the sound is coming from only one direction in mid-air.
Members ashasha
It makes a big difference in my opinion. I built this out of an old chair I had that I was going to toss out. Built a little attenuator (box on the bottom) for it that works great.
Members [VictorinoX]
I keep mine on the top half of a shelf I kept from my old house in Florida. Solid mahogany construction, holds my Bassman REALLY well.

Members BlueSteam
Agreed. Although, two of my amps are kickbacks, but that still counts right? My Boogie stays on its wheels becasue I NEED to cut the bass.
Members JohnnyLarge
My Vox AD15VT is on an old cheap tiltable AVF speaker stand. Sounds better and doesn't piss off the neighbours. Try it!!!!

Members DaleH
If the amp is an open back design it's a good idea to keep it at least 3' from a wall also.
Members csm
Agreed. Whenever we get to a gig I try to nick a pair of plastic beer crates off the bar staff -- or a folding wooden chair. This is for a combo, mind -- I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for a stack of 4x12 cabs ...
