Members warriorpoet
I need to get some fretwork done. Just little stuff like smoothing fret ends, a minor level and a recrown. Where's the best place to go in South Florida? We're closest to Stuart/ Treasure Coast area, but there doesn't appear to be anything around here... I'd like to find someone within an hour or so if I can. I know Jay Wolfe's shop is only ~45 minutes away, but he's closed on my day off (Monday). Members A_Gitarman
Here in Melbourne , Howie at Guitar Haven does good workPM me for more info Yeah, a friend of mine had his guitar at Howie's shop for a MONTH waiting for a new nut a couple of years ago. When he called to ask about it, they couldn't even find his guitar! I'm not saying that he does bad work. In fact, Howie seems like a nice guy & has an interesting collection at his store. I choose to spend my money elsewhere due to my friends experience... your mileage may vary.

Although Pat stopped doing repair work a couple of years ago to concentrate on his custom builds, he'll probably know who's doing repairs. I do fret work myself, but so far only on my own guitars. I haven't gotten to the point where I'm ready to do work for others. It's more about not having the time right now more than anything.

He fixed an old Ampeg V-2 head for me as well. They do good work, and they're reasonably fast.
