Members chimi
I have my eye on a guitar they have for sale and was wondering if you could haggle the price down a bit.
Members weather.at.8
I have heard that you can in some MGR stores. They're all independently owned so I don't think there's a company wide policy one way or the other. The local MGR in town pretty much tells you to {censored} right off if you even try to talk price with them.
Members Selsaral
I've tried at the one near me and they won't haggle. Still a good store with decent prices. Good people working there too.

Members Mac_C
You can't haggle at the one in the Quad Cities. That dude actually gets offended if you suggest even a modest price reduction. I've bought a lot of stuff there and most of the time their prices are good but every now and then they would get a little high. Any haggling attempt was meant with some pretty intense ire. I always go in on my lunch break during the week. What does the manager look like?

I think it's easier. They are one of thousands you can call, and you haven't invested much time going there.
Members tlbonehead
nearly everything I've ever bought from any MGR I've paid at least a bit less than their starting price. How much less depends on the obvious things.
Members KGrob
Someone told me you couldn't haggle with Guitar Center when I first started going there. I've been to three stores now and have been able to get ALL three to cut back at least 10 percent on most things. I went to a guitar store the other day (local, not guitar center) and got 33% off a whole line of guitars within about a minute without even trying...and all I was there for was to use the bathroom (too bad I already have five guitars because there was a good deal or two in there). I was in a pawn shop the other day and negotiated a deal for a guitar from $459 to $200 within about five minutes (just to stay in practice) but I told him the highest I could go was $150. Anyway...the moral of the story...most places will deal (especially if you pay in cash). Give it a shot.
