Members sufosia
First of all, this is not one of those "Please vote for me" topics. This is the first time I entered such a competition, so I was wondering what do people think of my video. Is it "too much metal" for this type of competition? Was my solo too short? Was there enough technique presented? Was it a good commercial for my band?Would it make any difference if I was standing? Was this a good idea in general? (I know I'm no mach for those Satriani/Vai/Petrucci like players, but...) Here's the youtube link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o12LMg9tI_4 Thanks
Members StompBoxLover
Would it make any difference if I was standing? maybe, also getting rid of the strawberry bedclothes (METAL!!!) might help If you want to impress judges, booking agents, presenters etc. show that you can pull it of live and get a crowd going wild. Everyone is a bedroom superstar.
Members GCDEF
I don't know anything about the competition, so I don't know what they're looking for. Your playing was decent, but when I think "Guitar Idol" I don't think of a Youtube video of a guy sitting on his bed. I'd find a more appropriate setting for an Idol type video. Go find a club or a studio with a stage and some lights and shoot it there.
Members Eddie
Standing and performing definitely make a difference.Check out some stuff by Thammarat, Gottardo, and others who have done well in the past.I don't think your song is too much metal, but there's no guitar at various points.Best of luck. Members Metalrulez
The backing track is too loud in the video. I can not hear what your are playing as the lead parts.
Members headstash
I thought your playing was good in your audition vid but the Hanger 18 cover is {censored}ing badass!
Members sufosia
Thanks for the comments people. I wanted to make a video more similar to the ones allready in the competition... I could have just posted Hangar 18 as an entry, but I wanted something new and original, so... Members Yngtchie Blacksteen
Like the other said, I think it's important that you stand up, and that the background isn't visibly that of your bedroom.
