Members mahon451
So, a couple of months ago, I purchased a brand-new Fender Mexi Tele. I made some mods to it (GFS Li'l Puncher and a black p/g), but other than that, it hasn't even left my house. Long story short, some financial issues popped up, and I have to sell it. These things go for $500 new, and while I'm not expecting to get even close to that, I would like to, you know, NOT lose my shirt on this thing. So, my question is this- what is a fair price for this axe?
Members Selsaral
Unfortunately, mods don't appear to add much value overall. If you sold it directly and cut out shipping etc, 350$ is probably about right. I'm no expert tho.
Members twotimingpete
check ebay. I haven't checked it, but I'm guessing if it's an 09 mim and perfect, you could get $325-350. you may be wise to put it back to how it was stock. that'd probably improve the value (particularly on ebay) honestly. Members steve_man
If it has been modded...it might actually drop the value a bit...if it had name brand pups in it, you might get a little extra, but probably not. Also, if you have a case...sell it by itself. You usually do not get much extra for a case in a deal. I'd say you'll get in the $300-325 range as is...MAYBE closer to $350 stock. There are several places blowing these out right now, so that obviously hurts you. You can get a MIM at Best Buy right now for less than $350 new. Members twotimingpete
exactly.. if I'm looking for a strat, it's less likely that I'm looking for one that has all these weird humbuckers in them from a brand I may or may not know of... I'd just want a straight up strat. more than likely.
Members steve_man
Yeah, usually if you want a modded Strat/Tele...you wanna do the mods yourself.
