Members RuiSalvador Posted March 8, 2010 Author Members Posted March 8, 2010 My e-mail to GFS wasn't very helpful at all =S
Members RuiSalvador Posted March 15, 2010 Author Members Posted March 15, 2010 another e-mail to GFS was not very helpfull. But i should say that jay answered to an important question, told me something like " yeah the 10 k is more all around " lol, short answer , but helpfull in fact =) I'm afraid that the 15k is to hot and modern, i also like vintage rock sounds, but i also don't want a soft sound to some heavier stuffs, Bahh awfull doubt.
Members Poltergeist Posted March 15, 2010 Members Posted March 15, 2010 hot is what most people would call vintage, actually.
Members RuiSalvador Posted March 16, 2010 Author Members Posted March 16, 2010 So maybe i'm using the wrong words :S, i was just trying to say that i don't know what pickup to choose, i'm afraid that the 15 k is to Heavy, don't know if what i'm saying makes any sense =S
Members Poltergeist Posted March 16, 2010 Members Posted March 16, 2010 dude, forget the K's. that is technicality. get some SD Hotrails. do you have an humbucker in the Strat?
Members cratz2 Posted March 16, 2010 Members Posted March 16, 2010 I had the 10K in a guitar, first with stock MIJ pickups, then with two Fender 57/62s and the 10K is definitely hotter than almost any single coils. For the bridge position, I'd go for the 10K.
Members RuiSalvador Posted March 16, 2010 Author Members Posted March 16, 2010 No ,i have 3 singles =) , and i can't afford SD =S , now i go easier on my squire, not spending too much, then in a couple a months, a new amp, and for christams, new guitar =) Cratz2 , if you can answer me, why go with the 10 , what would be the main difference if i bought the 10 or the 15 sound-speaking, in theory ?

Members RuiSalvador Posted March 16, 2010 Author Members Posted March 16, 2010 Rose are sold out =S Thanks for the tip =D
Members cratz2 Posted March 16, 2010 Members Posted March 16, 2010 Why would I get the 10K? Because I've had two of them and I liked them. I'd be afraid the 15Ks would be a bit too hair metal and I'd be afraid the 6Ks wouldn't drive the amp as much as I'd like.
Members AJ6stringsting Posted March 16, 2010 Members Posted March 16, 2010 GFS, Guitar Parts on Line and Las Vegas Professional Guitar Parts are good sources for guitar parts. I found them to be reliable and of super high quality.I like those companies because they are going to put the big companies in check, like Jackson, Kramer and Charvel put Fender and Gibson on guard.Squires are great too, just gut them, put better pick ups, electronics, tremolos and you got an awesome guitar, I know because I got a couple of them that I built and they put my Fenders to shame !!!!

Members D34dBaWx Posted March 16, 2010 Members Posted March 16, 2010 Jackson and Charvel are Fender. And doesn't Gibson own Kramer?
Members RuiSalvador Posted March 16, 2010 Author Members Posted March 16, 2010 What changes did you make in your squires??
Members D34dBaWx Posted March 16, 2010 Members Posted March 16, 2010 I have a squier that I modded. Its a great guitar. Tom Delonge Squier strat. I put fender tuners on it, fender stamped saddles, and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. I have a couple real fender strats and I still love this guitar as much as anyone of them. I also have a squier tele. Its a ok guitar, no mods on it though.
Members RuiSalvador Posted March 18, 2010 Author Members Posted March 18, 2010 I'm decided to buy the lil killer, period, i only have doubts about things i don't know well, buy 10 k or 15 k , pots and caps, stuff like that =S And what neck middle pickups to buy
