Members Faldoe
I just picked one up - black, dual humbuckers, that I'm gonna sell to a friend - got a great deal on it. Its a nice guitar but I imagine it could be better. Anyone change the pickups on theirs? Any component mods/upgrades?
Members GASSER
Nice guitars for sure... To many people, myself included, the pickups sound a bit muddy and bland. Replacing the 250k pots with 500k or 1meg pots will help. I put 500k pots in mine and it does sound better to me, although still not as good as some of my other guitars. As far as replacement pickups, there aren't a lot of choices... Rio Grande is the only company that I know of making direct replacements to fit the original pickguard. You can get a custom pickguard and put in any pickups you want, or you could have the original pickups rewound to your specs by someone like bg-pups.com. Members Faldoe
So the pickups are oversized?
Members twotimingpete
they use fender wide ranged humbuckers, which look awesome and yes, are non-standard size. so your options for replacing them are somewhat limited.
