Members HamsterSandwich
I see what you mean. If you try too hard you start to sound like wine dorks that say stuff like "A cheeky little Merlot with hints of oak and a smokey finish and just the slightest hint of citrus overtone." Some things just aren't meant to be described in words I guess.
Members adlo76
everytime i hear a guitar i think that sounds "guitary"
Members Willyguitar
Is it just me or do many of the adjectives used to describe tone just seem silly? I hate it when I'm trying to describe how a guitar sounds and I find myself using words like "woody"Not only is great tone hard to get with an actual guitar and amp. It's hard to describe! Here... why don't you try to describe how the neck pickup on a GREAT Strat sounds? It has a sound I can hear in my head but {censored} all if I can't describe it without sounding like a tool. I think there may be something Freudian going on here...

Members nighthawk15
Neck pickup on a strat? I'm terrible with using these terms,. which is why I usually don't try, but maybe clear and smooth?
Members Metalrulez
My favorite additives to describe tone are good and like {censored}. Everything else is some place in between those two.
Members paulskirocks
My tone has a hint of leathery plum, with a follow of chestnut and smooth flowing rasberry, along with overtones of chocolate oak bathed in cinnamon lushness...
