Refinish ideas??

Has anyone ever tried to do an "at home" burst finish on a guitar? if so how did you do it and how did it come out?

 

What are some other high quality finish options you guys have used on builds and rebuilds?

Just google "spray sunburst paint" and you'll get a ton of videos.

It really isn't hard to do wuith a bit of practice. Get yourself two or three cheapo cans of paint, cut out some cardboard in the shape of your guitar and practice.

The lacquer sunburst products in cans from Reranch and Stewmac both have good spray tips that do a nice job.

Spray your light color first, then clear over it. Then go with your dark color. If you get a bit of overspray with the dark, you can lightly sand it back because of the clearcoat.
