OK, so it's not Girls Gone Wild, but here's my little video with two original songs. The first one is called Avanti and it's acoustic guitars, Martins. The second is called The Jag and, you guessed it, it's a Fender Jaguar through my Marshall 18 watter.

Liked the tunes. Mellow but they had some movement to them. They matched up well with the relaxed vibe of your video - acoustics and groomers! But we've got to get you some goggles that were made in this decade!

Was just out at Crested Butte last week myself. Great mountain but not a ton of snow out there...glad I got out just as all the spring breakers from Texas were coming in and crowding up the slopes and skiing off what little snow was left. Got some new skis out there too, always good deals end of season. I now have more skis than electric guitars

Finally, a fellow ski enthusiast.

My goggles are about 15 years old  You didn't get a good look at my ski boots which are about 8 years old! I love stuff that works and is comfortable.

I checked out a pair of '09 Salomon demos for the week--166 cm all mountain cruisers. They worked fine, even on the hardpacked steeps.

Sorry, no mogul runs with the camera stuck in my goggles. It wouldn't stay in place, but, yeah, it worked great on the cruisers. Steamboat has slightly better conditions than the central resorts (Aspen, Snowmass, C. Butte), but they are off more than 100" from their normal snowfall. Nice conditions earlier this week though.

Thanks for your comments about my muzak. Appreciate it very much.

Skiing is easier for me than walking

I do 3 or 4 steep bump runs before lunch and that's it for me for the rest of the day. They can be hard on the back. Most double blacks around here are steep chutes with lots of obstacles or glades. If conditions are decent, I can handle them, but if the snow is like cement, I stay away. Thanks for the comments.

we did one year in breckenridge when i was about 17. otherwise, we mostly stayed towards the east coast.

very different snow out west than back east. not so much powder; a good bit more wet and hard.

I grew up skiing in Colorado, but I've skied at Squaw Valley and Heavenly in CA. Also Mammoth and June Mtn. They are all great ski areas, but the snow is wetter on the coast. When I lived in SoCal, I skied at the Big Bear resorts and Mtn. High quite a bit. The runs are pretty short, but it keeps you in shape for the big Mammoth trip.

Looks like a nice time on Mt Werner (Steamboat).

I go there with my uncle every January (he is an old friend of Billy Kidd, a former US Ski Team racer and Steamboat personality). Just love it there. And I see you hit the Tug. Love that place.

The snow looks nice. But the crowds at those lifts!!!! (or has skiing in Montana spoiled me) When I go to Steamboat, I have to hit the glades up in Christmas Tree bowl. But I won't carry a camera through there either ;)

I do some instructing at Moonlight Basin as my moonlighting job (rim shot). But the last two days I got to ski for myself at Moonlight and Big Sky. Early spring conditions, but still so nice.

Spring break is almost over--back to work soon. But plenty of skiing in.

Like the soundtrack to your vid. Cool.

Actually, it wasn't very crowded. The lifts were closed the day before I shot the video because of high winds, so everyone came out the next day. By 2 PM, the place was deserted. Texans just can't handle the altitude.

I was just kidding about the crowds......talking some smack.

If there is ever more than 2-3 people at the bottom of a lift at Big Sky, we call that rush hour. (I *seriously* don;t know how the mountain stays in business.)

I have been at Steamboat when it is seriously crowded, as well as other places in CO. Your vid looked nice and.....civil :)

So, yeah, Texans can't handle the altitude. So true ;) But also Mt Werner is pretty exposed, and even in January some parts of the mountain reduce to 2 o'clock sugar. Can happen anywhere, though.

I can imagine bumps with a video camera would be a serious challenge! I demoed 6 pairs of skis while I was out there - I ended up with a pair of 177cm Nordica Enforcers. You would have called these powder skis five years ago - they're incredible wide (98mm underfoot) - but it's amazing how well they handle on any terrain. Despite the width, they can haul nearly as fast as my race boards on groomers! Ski technology continues to evolve.

Also, had to mention that as always the recording quality on your music was excellent.:thu:
