Members Jkater
Flex your neck? (don't!) I would have thought sliding into a note is done in place of bending. But I approve of this thread and would like to read what others have to say.

Members ashasha
well you cant reverse bend notes Yeah, but you can do a prebend and then release and if you get after it a bit it can sort of simulate it.
Members EricFoss
One of the things that really turns me off from guitarists is when they use the vibrato as an emergency brake. Certain folks like Beck, Clapton and, even EVH (see 'I'll Wait') know how to use it as a wonderful effect. Others use it as I way to rescue themselves from the box they've played into... Members frankie pajamas
Someone here had a video of Satch at their house playing Surfing With The Alien on a Behringer strat copy I believe (w/ no bar). I think he did that tapping thing on both sides of the fretted note or something crazy.......wish I could remember who it was
Members vaguelee
well you cant reverse bend notes Bend the note before you play it and then release the bend? Like the first little dive in Panama on the b-string, you can pre-bend a full step on g-string 2nd fret and make it pretty convincing. Obviously can't do huge dives that way, but it works for some stuff. And I used to flex the {censored} out of the neck on my Gibson V when I gigged it. Hold the body still with one hand and push the top of the headstock with the other. Never broke on me, even though everyone told me it would eventually.
