Members Nighthawk551
Hey guys, I have an MIM Tele with Texas Specials installed. I love the tone I get from them, but there is something strange with the middle position. I know these pickups are hot, and the bridge and neck are at the "correct" volume by my estimation. However, when I switch to the middle, there is a drop in volume and it just sounds anemic. Is this supposed to happen with Texas Specials? Is there some special way it's wired so two hot pickups running at once don't overload the preamp? I don't know how it's all wired up on the inside, since I had a tech install the pickups. Thanks for any insight.
Members DaleH
You could buy a fender 4 way tele switch and wire it up with series / parallel. Not sure how yours is wired but it sounds like there is something wrong though. There is a little volum drop when you switch to both pickups in parallel but it should not be to durastic.
