Members _pete_
I posted there too. BTW, how do you get Jay to respond to an email? I've emailed twice about a bridge he sells and gotten nothing. See, I'm not a raving fanboy.
Members seven58
I just added my two cents. Here is what I posted...I have been playing for a long time and have a lot of guitars. When I put down a $3000.00 guitar and pick up a Xaviere, of which I own 5, I don

Members Dale2
I own one. It came with scratches and dings. Screw holes stripped, loose bridge inserts into the body etc. I do think a review of a guitar you have never seen is unfair (hear-say review?). But, they are not up to other inexpensive guitars in that price range today in my experience. It SURE is not my 05 LP Standard, or my Warmoth or my Fender, Schecters ... not the same game to me. Members paulojcduarte
Anybody else find it completely ridiculous they expect to be sent a free guitar to be reviewed?Well, I'm starting a review site. Jay better send me some free goodies or I'll trash him with my hands-off expert reviews of his stuff, that I copy-paste from another place. Anyone find it a bit shady that he only picked the bad reviews "One thing that seems to be somewhat consistent is GuitarFetish

Members metallica_00
With that out of the way, I agree 1000% with what you posted. That's incredibly irresponsible journalism. That's the problem with the internet - any moron with a keyboard can call themselves a "journalist". I agree that it's silly to post an article on something you haven't ever played. At the same time, I don't think it's totally unreasonable to post an article weighing pros and cons from other reviews. If the guy balanced the opposing sides of the argument more fairly no one would be complaining.

Maybe not offensive, but still pretty useless. Either way, this experience will be my first and only.

Pete, I'm pretty sure Jay, or no one on his staff replies to emails sent through Ebay, or sent to his "Ebay" division which he actually states in his ebay sales. Im not sure if this is how you are trying to get ahold of him, but if it is, tyhis would explain the lack of resonse. Try emailing the cusomer service dept directly at his site, or try calling him, if this is actually your problem. If it is not, not sure of why you are having the problem bvecause in ALL cases I have seen, Jay either is prompt in responding, OR it is because of the Ebay thing. Members mistersully
this bit makes me want to poo on them "With further research we stumbled across Harmony-Central reviews, which seem to be slightly favorable, at least compared to all the negatives found. How do we know what is real or what is manipulated, and how can we trust the judgment of another guitarists views? We could look at all the things that seem to be consistent, however, the Harmony-Central reviews are not all that consistent, in fact, the reviews look to be all over the charts." yet they're basing the whole thing on a few other net comments elwankersosupremo

Members DonK
IDK, inexpensive Chinese guitars aren't necessarily going to have the same consistency of construction quality of some (but hardly all) more expensive guitars. The only Xaviere I own is an XV-650, but it's a gem. The pup's alone (GFS P-90's) justify what I spent on it; I'm building a highly customized project Tele right now and was going to spring for a high-end P-90 for the neck slot - was thinking Lollar - but after getting my 650, I decided to go with a GFS pup. Mine is surprisingly well-constructed, with a flawless finish. In comparison, the one Rondo guitar I've bought - an SX Strat for my son - was categorically the second worst piece of junk I've ever owned (the worst being an "Alex" SG copy I bought in 1971 as my first guitar).
