Today's playlist, shuffled and chugging along....

Neck and Neck - M Knopfler and Chet Atkins

Comes a Time, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere - Neil Young et al

Being There - Wilco

and an obscure local production:

South Side Guitars - John X Reed and Jesse Taylor (if you like gritty Fenders, old tunes like "Last Date", Steve Cropper/Duck Dunn, all with a definite Texas vibe, check this out IF you can find it...)

My queue:

Communist Red Chinese hymns and anthems, performed with big orchestra and choirs... So passionate are these, that I say, "Sign me up! Where do I convert?"
;)

Warhol-Mao-5.jpg

Imagining Mr Ras in the court dock, being leaned on by the local deep-Texas D.A., who growls, "Are you, or are you not, Mr. Razz-Pootin-Ninteen-Hunnert and Sixty-Thuree, the most alienated resident of a small Texas town that the human race has been able to produce?"

To which you reply, "With all due respect Mr. D-and-A, [fill in your immortal response here]".

Ha ha. I know the feeling. I took my visiting sister to a Szechuan place for lunch, and sushi for dinner. The folks complained that I'd 'finally turned her.'

If only more forms of Christianity actually reflected the teachings of Christ...

Solo guqin music is a favorite of mine.

RAS: "Why, yes."

DA: "Well, why don't you leave? We God-fearin' white Southern Christians would just wish you would find a hole somewhere, crawl into it and pull the dirt in over you."

Aw, I was hoping you'd zing the D.A. a good one.....such an opening...what Frank Zappa could have done with such an opportunity!

Some Buddhist ideas spring to mind on that score:

'Tis the nature of the scorpion to sting (ie., you'd be surprised if he didn't)

"He who knows, does not say; he who says, does not know" THE T'AO TE CHING

"If you see the Buddha on the road, kill him."

"Beware those whose need to punish is strong."
