Members The Bear
I had an old Firebird and I loved it... but it had the strap button up on the shoulder (instead of behind the neck like yours) and it was terribly neck heavy. Glad to see Gibson finally got it right. Still neck heavy Thanks

Members GreatDane
congratulations! i recently starting really falling for Firebirds; they are somewhat neck-heavy, but the tone and playability is worth it IMO (just get a thick strap, duh). Members DonK
Awesome! Bought a 'Bird last year (white), and you're right that the ergonomics take some getting used to, but it's a great guitar once you do.

Members rog951
Only problem with owning a Firebird: every time you take it out of the house, people will expect you to lay down some Johnny Winter licks. If you don't know any, learn some before taking the 'bird out on a date!
Members Jarl Sigurd
I had an old Firebird and I loved it... it was terribly neck heavy... But not the non-reverse Firebirds. Non-reverse Firebirds are very nicely balanced. Trust me, I've owned both reverse and non-reverse Firebirds.
Members Jarl Sigurd
Only problem with owning a Firebird: every time you take it out of the house, people will expect you to lay down some Johnny Winter licks... Or they might expect you to lay down some Stephen Stills licks...

Members notcool
I remember wanting a Firebird in the worst way when I was a teenager. Some years later I did try out a couple of Gibson reissues, but I found the necks a little too chunky. A few years back I bought a Tokai FB-45, a very good copy of a reverse Firebird but with flatter neck profile. I find it easier to play than the Gibsons I've tried out.
