Members ashasha
Wow, this one is tough. I had a very good friend lose his 14 year old son a few years ago and I was asked to do the music at the service. They had Tears in Heaven and a Green Day song of some sort. The pastor missed the cues in the program and I couldn't start the song without cutting him off so I was just sitting there stressed out not knowing what to do...skip the song or cut the pastor off. I looked at my friend and he gave me the look of 'if you don't play Tears in Heaven right now I am going to beat someone (it was for his wife). So while I can't come up with a suggestion because Ride On is the only song that seems the least inappropriate, just make sure that you are all on the same page for coordination. Don't assume anything. Best of luck and sorry to hear about the loss.

Members dbsens13
First off, sorry to hear about this. That's really sad. At least the boy is in a better place now and also he has his dog. Secondly, I don't think there is a better choice than "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)".
Members pixelchemist
For those about to rock is my recommendation... It's really an epic song especially if you can simulate the canon fire as a send off somehow... AC/DC also uses that song as the last song in a set frequently. Members twotimingpete
that's really sad. I hate funerals too. I'd been to 8 funerals by the time I was 17 and I'm never going to another one no matter who dies (unless it's me, I suppose).
Members drawdeep
Is this a song that you are looking to play from a record or is someone going to be playing live? The reason I am asking is, I can't think of any songs that would be appropriate in their entirety... as has been said, too many innuendoes and inappropriate references... However, I COULD see a medley of portions of some of the mentioned songs working. Portions of Ride On, For Those About to Rock, Long Way to the Top, etc. could work if you avoid certain parts. That would obviously work best if someone was playing as they could play all the songs in a somber way... just a thought.
Members fewlio
"For those about to rock we salute you" is a play on the Roman salutation said to gladiators..."for those about to die we salute you" I think the switching of the word to "rock" gives it a positive connotation and makes it the best choice for a funeral

Members thirsty one
Moron... Well it took 22 posts for this to come up. This song would be about as appropriate as a country preacher getting up and saying at some redneck's funeral. ("Well we all know old Joe is frying in hell like a sausage in a skillet.") I believe "For those about Rock" would be the best choice.

Members fretmonster
I like "It's a long way to the top" because of the tie in with "School of Rock" as well as conveying the opposite subliminal message of "Highway to Hell". It's also one of the easiest songs to learn in their catalog.
Members zooLemon
For Those About To Rock is the only choice, really. I mean, it says "we salute you." That's what you want, isn't it?
Members jrockbridge
I understand why people are suggesting "Ride On" because it's one of the few melancholy AC/DC tunes. But, the lyrics aren't particularly appropriate...it's mainly about loneliness. Although, technically, I guess you could think of death as a lonely event for the person who has passed away. I think "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" has the appropriate lyrics under the circumstances. Also, it's an up tempo song and I'm sure that's more in line with what any AC/DC fan will appreciate. Prayers spoken and....
