Members Krallum
Any suggestions on setting one up to flutter really well in lower tunings? More/Less springs? Sharpen Knife edges? the chapstick thing?
Members AlexMC
Each spring you use adds its own 'friction' to the trem action, so you're best off with as few springs as possible, with the claw screwed right into the wood. Also make sure your trem arm is as tight within the block as possible - I use PTFE (plumbers/teflon) tape around the thread on the arm. Yes, sharp knife edges and lubricated contact points help all trems stay in good working order, but won't have much of an effect on flutter, IMO.
