Members Brian Krashpad
In general, it's no problem. One exception, when you have a bridge that's not pinned, like on some jazzboxes. In that sitch, it's best to change strings one at a time, so the bridge stays in the same spot.
Members nanobug
The only negative consequence I've ever encountered by taking off all the strings at once was that a loose nut once came off and had to be re-glued, and that happened before all 6 strings were off. Members Twiggyay
I sense a possible episode on MythBusters...who's wit me? Well, it won`t appeal to the crowd, but yes, for a guitar enthusiast (?), and Kari is hot!
Members RickBeall
I have an old Guyatone guitar. It has a truss rod. When I took off all the strings at once, after about 30 seconds there was a loud snap. Nothing broke off or visibly cracked, but the neck was unhappy about something.
