To me his playing and tone are the epitome of what modern jazz/fusion should be all about. In comparison, Mayer's tone sounds fairly generic but clearly I have the minority opinion. Of course the 2 guys are enjoying what they're doing and there is likely nothing other than respect between the 2. But IMHO, Sco just owns. Especially on the album version...
