Members 67mike
I hear lemon oil is the ticket. What brand do you use/suggest? Also........what do you put on your Nitro Lacquer Finish?
Members Vintage55
I use Dr. Stringfellow Lem Oil on my rosewood boards. For lacquer, I use Gibson Pump Polish...actually use it on all my guitars.
Members poolshark
I like mineral oil. Lemon oil, but cheaper and without the scent (and gummy additives).
Members guitarcapo
Walnut oil. I don't like mineral oils. They act like a solvent long term pulling the natural oils of the wood out.
Members soundcreation
I just bought one of those gibson restoration packs. Got lemon oil, nitro safe polish creme, and a low abrasive metal cleaner. Works very well.

Members Musicscotty
I've used Dunlop 65 Ultimate Lemon Oil for a few years now. It's a dual action clean/condition type thing and works well.
Members fatcatcubby
+1 Dunlop 65 lemmon oil. Polish? you can use just about anything as long as it does'nt have Silicone in it. That narrows it down to just a few products;)
Members Special J
I use Dr. Stringfellows Lem-oil on rosewood, and Dunlop 65 polish on lacquer.
Members craigny
I liked the Ernie Ball Fretboard conditioner wipes. And i also use the Gibson pump polish...works great.
Members Les Paul Lover
Greasy fingers & occasional lemon oil on the finger board. As for the lacquer, I use Virtuoso cleaner & polish. Fantastic stuff. However, it will buff up faded/satin finishes.

Members cephus
I used 3-in-1 for like 20 years until I bought some "fingerboard honey" or something like that. Gerlich's, maybe? I forget. I didn't see any difference really. i never had any problem using 3-in-1.
Members dabbler
^ This. I used to use raw linseed oil. Dan Erlewine used to recommend raw linseed oil, then he stopped, I think he recommends lemon oil now. What I found was if you use the Linseed oil twice, it puts a finish on the wood. So I guess it's OK if you want t little sheen on your board (I never had any problems when I was using raw linseed oil), but the Fret Doctor just gives you a natural-type board, but not totally dry. Members Eddie
...Dan Erlewine used to recommend raw linseed oil, then he stopped, I think he recommends lemon oil now... No. He actually says that lemon oils contributes nothing to a fingerboard, although it may be used for cleaning. IIRC, he prefers naphtha for cleaning. For conditioning I use Roche-Thomas Premium Fingerboard Oil, as used and recommended by John Suhr. Much cheaper than the Fret Doctor, which apparently is also quite good. My 2 oz. bottle has been used in maybe 8 or 10 guitars in the past couple of years, and will probably last me another 10 years.
Members Rekel
Most of my guitars are from the early '70's and apart from occasionally using GHS Fast Fret to clean the plain strings, I've never used anything to treat the fret boards with other than my fingers. Didn't seem to me like they needed any kind of conditioning.
