Wiring/Amplifying Mavens: A Question Re: Having Two Intputs

First, apologies for the typo in the thread title= Intputs = Inputs

Situation: I want to add a magnetic pickup to an acoustic-electric guitar that now has a piezo bridge w/preamp.

I know that I can't merely wire the magnetic pickup to the same input jack that is connected to the piezo without using something like a Fishman Powerchip, but, to be perfectly candid, trying to do so would be way beyond my limited skill set.

So, I thought I would wire the magnetic pickup to its own input jack.

Now, here's the question: If I want to create a blended signal from the two input jacks, could I use a kind of reverse stereo cord (if there is such a thing), or would/could I run the separate cords into a box of the some kind that would then allow me to run a single cord out of that box and into an amp?

(I'm not 100% confident of how successful I've been in trying to explain what it is that I want to do, so I would appreciate any questions you might have.)

(The picture below is offered only to prevent the whole "Is it an input (not intput) jack or an output jack controversy that sometimes ensues.)

I'm sure it's possible, though I've never seen such a box. You can't just use a splitter cable, as that would be equivalent to wiring both pickups to the same jack. I think the problem is that the magnetic pickup needs to be buffered before being mixed with the piezo (which is already buffered by its preamp). Possibly running the magnetic pickup into a buffer(ed) pedal and then mixing the signals would work, though I'm not certain.

I have a Carvin DC127 with a Fishman bridge, and it does exacly what you are asking. If has 2 outputs, 1 is a TRS stereo output dedicated to the Fishman, and the other is a "normal" output that blends the magnetics and the Fishman. It has a blend knob that mixes both signals.. Looking inside of it, the wiring is not at all simple. However, when I was shopping for a piezo guitar, I looked into the Graphtech Ghost system. It looks pretty easy to install and it can do everything you're asking for as well. The cost is reasonable too..
