Members Mitchell?
So, I'm helping a friend figure out how much a guitar is. I've got a few questions though, since I'm not an expert on mid-70's Fender It's got a black finish, black pickguard, three-saddle bridge, maple neck, through-body strings. Looks to be original neckplate and tuners. Was a black finish with a black pickguard available stock on a '76 standard? I found this (supposed Blue Book pricing): 1975-1976Mint $2,750Exc.+ $2,300Exc. $1,900Avg.+ $1,600Avg. $1,350General $1,100 The guitar looks to be pretty road-worn. Finish chipping on the back edges. So, I'm thinking maybe $1,000 to $1,500. What do you guys think?

All the late 70's telecasters that I have seen came with a black pickguard. Without seeing it your estimate sounds about right. here is a 1977 Telecaster on Ebay for comparison.
