Members gergbee
Hi, I asked this in a bass forum but I figured I'd ask here too. I want to find a cheap bass to turn into a fretless (just to experiment with) and I found one locally. It's an Applause p-bass copy with a maple fretboard but I can't find any info on it. The price is $100 for the bass plus a nice gig bag, a small Traynor practice amp, and a stand. My questions are:1) Anyone have any info on Applause basses? All I could find is that it is probably Chinese made and Applause is owned by Ovation. (I haven't seen the bass yet so I can't know for sure). 2) Does it matter what wood the fretboard is when one does a fretless conversion? Should I keep looking for a rosewood board? Thanks, Greg
