Members suckfish
I have a 2001 G&L ASAT Classic Semi Hollow that has all of a sudden started feeding back horrible horrible sounds. I did a little reading and it sounds like what is called "microphonic feedback"? But I could be wrong. Its not warm sounding controlled feedback that builds up, its a sudden screeching noise that happens whenever I switch to my bridge pickup or turn on my boost pedal while on the middle setting of my pickup switch. I'm playing through a hand built tube amp that doesn't have a lot of gain, a Fulltone OCD with the gain knob at midnight and using a Boss Bluesdriver as my boost with the gain at about 9 o'clock. I've heard good things about replacing my bridge pickup with a Lollar but am not sure which Lollar specifically or whether or not that will fix my problem or just make my tone a little better. Any help would be much appreciated. Patrick
Members Padrino
the blues driver is an inherently noisy boost to begin with. i would check the tubes on you amp, perhaps the preamp tubes to be safe though. also maybe check the same setup through a different amp and see if you have the same problems at equal volume level. Members mightysasquatch
If it just started, it's probably a tube, not the pickup.
