Any landmark guitar shops around the San Jose area?

I'm going to be in Cupertino for about three weeks for some job training and would love to check out a nice, above-average shop. Any ideas?

Been to a place a few years back called Guitar Showcase. It's on the main drag in San Jose. Also been to another place in Sunnyvale.

there's always Guitar Showcase and Starving Musician.

I only go to the store to buy strings & picks,everything else I get off Craigslist.

Showcase is the best if you want to see some nice vintage stuff. They have a big room (behind glass in some cases) full of some really nice and old guitars and amps. They have a good selection of guitars and a nice acoustic room for acoustic guitars.

 

Starving is closer to Cupertino but neither is that far away assuming you have a car

Guitar Showcase is awesome. I bought a shell pink custom shop strat on consignment there. Also bought the semi hollow PRS SE and a japan strat all were used and in their consignment store. Fantastic stuff there.

 

Also saw but passed on the 50th Anniv. Strat (no case) and a frankenstrat with a custom shop neck!

 

Great vintage stuff too and they are selling Steve Miller's gear right now.

I'm adding another vote for Starving Musician. Last time I was there they were on the El Camino IIRC in Santa Clara, couple of miles north of San Jose.
