Members doomsdaymachine
For over 25 years, I've played nothing but rosewood, & ebony. I recently aquired a shredder with maple, and it needs the basic new guitar stuff -cleaning, conditioning, & pre-maintenance. What's good for cleaning/conditioning maple? I've heard lemon oil is a no-no?
Members lowbrow
You don't really need to condition it, but naptha works well for cleaning.
Members PunkKitty
I use Tru Oil Gun Stock Finish on raw maple fingerboards. But it's really a finish that hardens. I'm not sure if it's a good idea on a finished board. A 3 oz. bottle will go a long way. It's cheap and easy to apply.
Members strtdv
If the board is finished then all you need is a slightly damp cloth to clean it once in a while
Members normh
I use either Naptha or mineral oil. A maple fretboard does not need conditioning because it is covered rather than exposed wood. For polishing I use Carubba wax.
