Members sonda01
anyone own one?how do they sound in comparison to les pauls (with p90s)?
Members EllenGtrGrl
I've played a couple (if they'd cost less, I might have bought one - I like Eastwoods). They played and sounded pretty good, but they only remotely sound like a Les Paul. For starters, they're hollowbodies without f-holes. Also, they're kind of based upon the Kay Barney Kessel model. Members Carbohydrates
Yeah, I don't think it's anywhere near the Les Paul camp in terms of sound, even a P90'd Les Paul. I think they're more comparable to a Gretsch, Ric, or other hollowed electric, with perhaps a hair more bite due to the pickups. I love my Eastwood, but it doesn't replace my LPs for what they do! Members mediocreplayer
I had one. I really loved it. The overlap in sound with a Les Paul is zero or close to it. But you don't get this guitar to approximate a Paul, you get it to get great thick fat clean sounds and wooly feedback fuzz. The cleans are (much) better than a Paul, imo.
