Members Guitin Better
I have something weird going on with the guitar I made from a kit. I was working on setting the intonation and the pitch is correct when the string is open and also on the 12th fret but the frets between there, particularly around the 3rd and 4th frets, are way out of tune. What would cause this??
Members poolshark
Your nut height could be too high. That would do it.

See how much gap there is between the 1st fret and the string. Should only be about a business card.

You're probably using a string set with a large E that doesn't sit well in the nut slot.
