Members nesto
Looking to upgrade pickups. I like the Evo 2 pups. Was wondering what you metal guys preferred. Anyone use Seymour Duncan Blackouts?
Members IamBurnout
I like the original Evo. Tone Zone and Super Distortion are also good. Don't count out the PAF pro.
Members nesto
You know, I was going to go with the original evo but decided on the Evo 2's based on reviews. Bud of mine had the tone zone and Paf-pro, I liked em.
Members k tone
Super Distortion. Sounds good clean as well.
Members Inazone
I like the PAF Pro in a guitar that has some tonal "character" already. The Steve's Special sounds really cool for metal too, although it has a pretty unique voice compared to any of the other pickups I've used. Great for leads, and can blend really well with just about any other pickup for rhythms in a two-guitarist band.
Members catscurlyear
try the malmsteen stacked humbucker they are low output, but all the tone is there just remember to use with 500k pot. i have tried high output bridge pickups they sound like mush and are far too loud for the neck pickups ,cause i like a neck pickup to be around 6k to get that hendrix sound ,with all the high gain amps around the malmsteen aint a problem.you can even start using the tone pot on the bridge pickup. Members bryvincent
haven't tried them myself but maybe try considering the D-Activators which are suppose to sound like active(EMG) pups.
Members HELSTRUME
I like the EVO. The X2Ns not bad either. I need to try the D activator and D sonic.
Members Scobro
Evolution is about as hot as you are going to get without being active
Members nesto
Hell, I'm leaning Evo and Paf Pro or Air Norton. What do you think?
