I'll be using it for down-tunning (full step down). I'm trying to decide if I should do it or not. Currently, I'm using a cheap Jackson Dinky that I gutted and through in an EMG 85/81 combo. It's sounds alright, but it plays awful. Looking at the TAT II (Frozen Sky, Dark Night), Angulus TR (Trans Black) and TAT Special (Trans Black). The guy who started the company was the main dude for Jackson japan in their heyday. Branched off to start caparison. So no need to worry about the pedigree I think. I'd love to try one.
