Members cbh5150
And I don't know if I wanna wait for the LP '50s Tribute I have on order, so how's about your recs for an inexpensive P90-loaded git with a rather beefy neck? Epi LP Special? Agile AL2000? Hamer SATF? Xaviere XV-910 semi? Godin...whatever? Lemme hear ya and see 'em!!! (never shoulda sold that LP Studio Worn P90s mistake )
Members Les Paul Lover
I'd look for another gibson studio worn with P90 - I really like the ones I've tried. Probably not the cheapest option, but a 2nd hand one will resell for what you bought it for, perhap's even a tad more?
Members Elias Graves
I've played that new Epi LP Special a bunch down at GC. That's next on my list. EG

Probably not the cheapest option, but a 2nd hand one will resell for what you bought it for, perhap's even a tad more? Well, the issue is that the one I got last year was some kind of mistake...I ordered a "standard" humbucker version from MF during an online discount "glitch", and what I received was the P90 version. I was very pleasantly surprised on arrival, but ended up selling it in another fit of GAS. That version was not intended for the US market; don't know how I got one unless the GC/MF conglomerate is a US supplier for GAK in Europe , so a used one on this side of the pond will be hard to find. EG Actually, it's near the top of my list as well. Funny, I played one through a SCXD at my local GC a few weeks ago, and a 9- or 10-year-old kid came up and said "you're REALLY good..." - if he only knew... I dunno - I may also consider the Epi '
Members Yer Blues
I have one of those Agile AL 2000 Goldtop copies with soapbars. I liked it so much I got two Agile 3100 and the Goldtop is by far a better feeling guitar. I plan on keeping the Goldtop, the 3100 not so much. Members notjonahbutnoah
While I don't have th most extensive experience, I've found that a quality 'bucker sized p90 can cop the tone quite well. Maybe a BG pickup or SD phat cat if'n you don't wanna drop too much coin. Never tried the gfs ones though. Also, if it were me, id get a guitar similar in body/woods to one I already had, that way the p90s will stand out as the main difference. I'm sure you get what I mean, good luck! SE soap bar??? Members Phillbis
LP Junior End of story +1, Fits your criteria, P90, beefy neck. Plus you can find them used for $500-$700. Or if you haggle with certain retailers even buy a new one for $

I thought you said "end of story" up there :poke: I've been known to own (and like) some Sqiuers...and as far as a LP Jr. goes, did I say I needs two pickups??? Members notjonahbutnoah
D'OH! - forgot about the SE... Yeah, I just looked at ur sig, saw a prs and thought "hmmmmmm" I think you'd get a better idea of what p90s do for your tone since you're already familiar w/ that body style, feel and whatnot. I almost bought one once. Whatever you choose, make it something where you know what a "normal" non-p90 version sounds like.
Members Elias Graves
Zemmy loves his Epi 56 GT. I'm pretty impressed with the SE soapbar I'm working on now, too. And BG's Pure90 IS a real P90 with a bucker cover so the options are pretty broad. Decisions, decisions.... For $379, though, I love the Epi LP Special. My favorite color, too....yellow. Members sk8centilli
The Washburn 66 Pro seems to get good reviews; albeit, I have never played one, but thought I would throw it in the mix. Personally, I have been crushing on a cute little blonde Godin Radiator with maple fretboard.

Members meandi
I've had the P90 gas for a while myself.I upgraded my dot studio with a refret & a set of duncan phat cats.I've got an epi lp 56 goldtop reissue in layaway at the local mom & pop that's already got a set of duncan stacked P90s in it, with new push-pull pots on both volumns for splitting both pickups.
