Members superfunkomatic
I'm currently building a hardtail Strat and am undecided on what pickups to use. Regarding the TBX system, I recently read that it requires a 9-volt battery. Is this true? Would replacing the battery mean having to remove the entire pickguard? That's not something I want to deal with. Regarding the S-1 switching system, does it use a battery, too? If so, I'm probably just going to use three vintage noiseless single coils without the S-1. Thanks.

Members NinjaModder
Do the three vintage noiseless with S1. My strat has that same setup and its amazing I think. I enjoy it.
Members Bro Blue
The active mid boost takes a battery. I would not bother with the S-1. I would get decent pickups and wire for master volume/master tone/blend pot.
