Members goldenhose
I would do a seach but where is the search button? Where are they made? Korea or China? Is it really made of Korina wood or is it a veneer on top of basswood. How r the pickups? Not a big deal if they suck since I plan on changing them anyway. Just curious. thank you in advance

Just curious. thank you in advance I've been pleased with the one I have. I haven't done any real changes to it, but I'd like to swap out the pickups and electronics at some point. the pots are pretty much 10 or 0 there is virtually no taper to them at all. the pickups can be a touch muddy, but we aren't talking a custom shop gibby or anything now are we. I have heard conflicting reports about the actual wood these things are made of but I have a hard time believing it would be real korina. There is definately a veneer on them. thats easy enough to see. I got mine for like 300 used from a GC and has been a really fun guitar for what it is. i gig with it with no issues or concerns and it holds its own against my LP standard and other more pricy gits. Members goldenhose
It looks nice. Hows the neck? My concern is the wood. If its of good quality it would be worth while to upgrade the pickups
Members BootRoots
i believe these have maple necks. nothing wrong with it at all. Pickup swaps are probably the most common thing done to these epis. If you want to do a pickup change I would suggest swapping out the pots and other electronics as well (cheap!). I don't think you will be disapointed.
Members metalheadUK
No probs with mine. Bits of it are a bit cheap and cheerful, and the gold plating is just a token thing...doesn't stay on at all. But I've gigged mine a few times...stays in tune and sounds great and doesn't break. Members BG76
I have seen a lot of these and the Explorers over the years and they look great. Never plugged one in or played one though.
Members lp_junkie
They are pretty cool way to get the V vibe without spending Gibson $$$$. New pickups, electronics and hardware make them in reliable solid performers.
Members mikeman
I really like mine. I am changing the pickups out for some Dimarzio's but I have been gigging with it . Mine has no veneer it is really light so I am not sure if it Korina or not, but it looks nice too.
