Hey... Does anyone know of a decent beginner electric guitar that "Isn't like complete {censored} or something", quoted from Bitterguy? I need one that, well, isn't complete {censored}. Oh and one that isn't super expensive

And as a reward heres a retarded cop :cop:

You have any shops nearby? Can you go try out some different stuff?

The nice thing about the Yamaha products is that even the low end stuff is pretty good. A lot of other brands can be hit or miss....sometimes you get a good one, sometimes not and if you don't know what to look for you could get one of the junk ones. Yamahas are pretty consistent and about any of them you grab will be pretty good.

What's your budget?

g&l tributes are supposed to be good. i used to sell fenders about 6 -7 years ago, and squires always felt like junk. i don't know if they've improved since, but there was a big difference between squires and mim fenders.

Well, go down there and see what they have. Pick up and play all the ones that appeal to you and a few that don't. Don't buy anything but go home and think em over.

Once you decide, try to find one used. Chances are, after you play for a while, you'll get a better feel for what you like and don't like about different makes and models.

If you buy used, you can resell it for what you put into it then go look for something else. Buy new and when you realize six months from now you want something different, you'll lose half your money.

Your first guitar only really needs to be good enough so it doesn't get in your way...it's not a "til death do you part" thing. Think of it as an extended test drive to help you learn more.

If you like strats, go find a good used mim Fender, Yamaha or other respectable brand and you should be good to go.

My more important advice to you is to spend more on your amp than the guitar. An average guitar sounds great through a good amp. A great guitar sounds like junk through a bad one.

One thing to watch out for is a narrow neck. A lot a cheaper guitars skimp on a few things and one of the common things is a thinner neck than on guitars costing a little bit more.

That may not be a problem for you but if you think it might be check the neck before you buy.
