Members clay sails
Oh no! People singing about what's important to them instead of about getting drunk, high and laid? What ever will we do! That's so horrible!!!! Au contraire. Yesterday I had the misfortune of being stuck in a vehicle on a long drive with a pop country station on. Ugh. It was truly horrific, but more to the point -- it was a steady stream of songs about liquor and sex. One was "rain is good" about whiskey and one was about someone's first beer and sex.I think what bothers me most are the exaggerated accents. Southern/western drawl can sound so sweet, but in nash-trash it sounds contrived.

I stayed at a friends house and then the next day we ran "errands" with the family. All the did all day was drive around blaring horrible country music (or was it western?)... all I know is that day scarred me forever.

I was always under the impression that you were like, 15 or something?
Members Oaksong
When you " were" a kid? I was always under the impression that you were like, 15 or something? Nah. When I was a kid, I thought that adults were insane, or stupid, or both. My mother convinced me I was wrong and arrogant for thinking so. OK fine. I went through school (grad school too) got plenty of working experience and discovered.... I was totally right from the beginning.I rediscovered my inner child and a firm conviction that 99% of people are completely full of {censored} unless I have good reason to believe otherwise. Now, I don't think they are PURPOSEFULLY full of it. As far as I can tell, they actually believe the hilarity that they spew forth. And yes, you probably think the same of me, which is fine.

The accent is authentic.
