Members maltomario
I've seen various stores selling replacement fine tuners. Which got me thinking... every floyd rose I've ever seen won't let you back them out. As you get to the end, they freeze up and won't turn any more. So, how the heck do you remove them? Just grab some pliers and keep turning? anyone done this? i don't need to replace mine, it just has been on my mind and there's nothing listed by google searches. Members RaVenCAD
I'd like to know too.. The only thing you can do is force them out, and that's never a good thing to do when dealing with fine threads. Yeah, the screw is probably softer than the baseplate, so it SHOULD be the part that fails, but I ain't about to take that chance despite how badly I'd like to replace the tuners on my old Charvel.. Maybe call Stew Mac and ask how to install them? EDIT: http://www.kramerforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26963 Interesting..
Members webwarmiller
If I were going to replace one I might use a cutting wheel on a dremel and remove the thumb screw. You could then just thread it through....probably have to clean up the cut a bit but shouldn't be an issue.
Members Ferdinandstrat
Actually, I was capable to screw them completely out a couple a times, even on my Gotoh Floyd Rose. This might suggest that you can infact unscrew them.
