Members hermok
Im looking for a p90/mini-hum les paul and steered towards a R6. Can the Deluxes compare? The most important thing for me is how they sound. I play pop-rock, blues and funk.

Members Wyatt
Mini-humbuckers and P-90's sound vastly different. Mini's are brighter, clearer and lower output. Which do you want? Just know a LP Deluxe mini-humbucker route and P-90 rout are the same shape on the surface, but interior routs are different, and different depths. That's not to say they can be jerry-rigged to fit, but sometimes some extra routing or building up at the bottom is involved
Members Prages
How much are those Edwards? Mine was $720 shipped from Japan about 3 years ago. I think they're closer to $900 now.

The most important thing for me is how they sound. I play pop-rock, blues and funk. If Gibson go for the R6 with minis. If you are looking for cheap go with the Edwards. Both are good guitars. Personally I'd rather have the Gibson, but that's just me.
Members Wyatt
BTW, of the R4/R6, I prefer the stoptail bridge of the R4.

I have a nocaster and a CS strat. I like the dynamics from the single coils, so I guess the mini would be a better choice. I borrowed a R6 for a few days, and that was great. Would love to try a Deluxe too. Ive read they vary more in quality that historics though.
