Members DaveGrima
I like my Partsocaster but I wish it was just a little brighter. I origianally used a .022 mfd Cap but found it was way to bright and brittle sounding so I switched to a .047. Now its a little too dark. I pretty much use the tone controls full up all the time but I wish I could get it a little brighter somtimes if I need it to. So what would using 300 or even 500k pots do? Im just using standard Duncan passive singles. Thanks for any tips.
Members Silverburst LP
I use 500K's with standard 3-sc pup/5-way switch configuration. Brighter, more bite, dirties up faster. Drawback is you lose a little warmth. I like it, though.
Members mrbrown49
You could try .033 caps. They are a common value.

I'd try that first. I did the same thing on a couple guitars. Tried .022 and .047 and didn't like either. One was too bright and the other too dull, but the 33 was perfect. If you noticed that much difference with the caps you tried going to larger value pots is going to be a much bigger change. Much brighter than with the .022 cap. Members Belva
I prefer 300K's on my strats. Brightens up the guitar without the overkill of 500K's. I haven't tried a .033 cap. Yet.
