What do I need to duplicate this tone?

I have a PRS 20th anniversary.

Blade Delta Std Tele. (With Active EQ)

VOX AD30VT

Marshall Valvestate AVT 2000

Boss : ME25 + Compressor,

A few other assorted Distortion pedals.

I cant get near it and am going around in circles now:confused:

Apparently Page did use a Wah but only wide open to give a treble boost.

yeah I was thinking that too. I know he did that live for the first album when he was using a tele>vox>mkII. But at some point he was going through an echoplex all the time.

Two things to consider here.

1. The tone that Page gets in the original song is from using his Tele.

2. The tone in the video that Knotty is asking about is from using an SG.

I don't think that the 2 tones are acheivable with these respective guitars to be honest.

If Knotty is asking about the tone in the youtube vid, then I'd say it would need to be a 24.75 inch short scale guitar doing it - like an SG or an LP.

The PRS may be able to do that, although my experience with 25 inch scale guitars is limited.

From there I would use the AD30VT Plexi model (full gain) with a distortion pedal to cook it up a bit. Add a touch of reverb and echo and it should be close.

Either that or buy Guitar Rig 4 and fill yer boots ;)
