Members wagdog
Gearjammer or Freebird, depending. I kid... When I was in a band we used to start with the same tune, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

Members JoeBoy
Believe it or not, I usually open with Brown Eyed Girl. Not too slow, not too fast, nice harmonies on the chorus and I even throw in a short guitar solo.Nice choice. T Honey is also a great song. Start songs changed over the years. End song has to be Listening to You by PT.
Members richey888
Cover band does "The Boys are Back in Town" by the Busboys. Just sayin'.
Members bassred
We have four sets laid out, and we usually start with the one that has 'DOn't want you no more' by the Allman Brothers, then goes right into (no pause) Shakin' by Eddie Money. Between the two, you already know what we are all about. Other sets start with: Start Me Up, Jealous again, or some other attention-getter. Set finishers are just as, if not more, important IMHO
Members Alecto
I like to start with something uptempo but not too fast. Something that gets people moving right off the top. Then hit them with the fastest tune in the set, then take it down with a slow rise to the climax. That always works for me.
Members misterzachariah
We play almost all originals, but we tend either to open up with a slower buildup type song or just jump right into one of our more technical, in-your-face ones. Just depends on which sort of mood we'd like to set. I think the first song is by far the most important of a set - for us, at least.
Members unworthy
Believe it or not, I usually open with Brown Eyed Girl. Not too slow, not too fast, nice harmonies on the chorus and I even throw in a short guitar solo. I just re-worked our set list today and put that 1st in the 1st set.
