Members niceguy
Local shop has one for $325. What was the issue with this series? I never played one; might have to go back and try it out. I seem to remember some hatred for this series.
Members lefchr
I think it was mainly priced to much for what it was. I haven't played one so I'm not sure though.
Members tkachuk07
Some people hated the sound & almost everyone hated the new sale price.

Members EllenGtrGrl
I think they're OK sounding. It's just that they don't sound like your typical Marshall. Listen to Darren Malakian of System of a Down, or Alex Skolnick of Testament. Both of them are Mode 4 users. Too many players expect them to sound like a Louder DSL, or JCM, and they just aren't. If anything, due to their hybrid design, they sound more like the old Valvestates.
Members Mudder1310
The best thing about the Mode 4 was the cabs.
Members MorganB
I love the amp, you can dial in any tone. i never had an amp that this could not match and better. I think that is why some people do not like them you can dial in bad sounds as well as excellent. It is not an amp where you just turn up the volume. Members Riggins
like them or not, I believe it was the stupid high price they were asking for essentially a multi-channel valvestate head, as someone else kind of mentioned, that created all the dislike. I went to GC several years back when the mode 4s came out and I think the price for the head was $1300-ish.I was looking for something after selling my 5150 and the sales guy tried to hype that thing up to me. I never felt more like I was at a {censored}ty used car sales lot while in a music store than I did at that moment.I did try it, it was meh.
