Members kylef
A bigsby B7 to be precise. Just tried to change the button for a schaller strap lock button, but the button is too big to get it to go through the bigsby hole and rest against the body. Intead it rests against the bigsby. I cant think of any way that this wont eventually unthread itself and come out? Im certain someone must have had experience with this, what did you do? Members Doctor49
I have schallers on my 335's Bigsby. They fit through the tail plate just fine. Sorry.
Members kylef
Mmmmmm will try again in the morning. I was under the impression though, the strap lock end that attaches to the strap would find it difficult to latch on to the button on the guitar as the bigsby plate would then hamper it? Members Doctor49
No, the strap fits ok as the button stands tall enough to clear the Bigsby plate. Try locating the button without the screw first and check. Its possible your button screw hole is not centred in the hole of the Bigsby plate. Members kylef
Just had another look. Not going to go at all so its nothing im doing. When i try to line it up, it has to go at an angle because there is always a side of the bigsby plate that is obstructing it?
Members Flatspotter
My Gretsch has a Bigsby that's closest to the B30, which has a small hole for the strap button, so I don't have the same problem as you. Maybe you could put a fender washer under the button that is big enough to straddle the entire hole, and use a longer screw.
Members kylef
I have the small hole, but its too small either side. Not good at all considering the Schaller buttons arent the biggest.
